All the main attractions are within walking distance: a few minutes from the Cisterna Basilica, Sultanahmet Maidan, Hagiia Sophiia, 10-15 minutes from the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, T1 streetcar stop. We had breakfast on the rooftop terrace with an incredible view of Aya Sofia and the Marmara Sea.

Recital Hotel

The Recital Hotel is an elegant 3 star hotel located in the historical district of Sultanahmet. Located next to Theodosia Cistern, a 5 minutes walk from T1 streetcar stop and 10-15 minutes from the Blue Mosque, Sultanahmet Square, Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace and the Grand Bazaar. Where to travel when in Istanbul

Topkapi Palace

The Topkapi Palace was built by Mehmed between 1460 and 1478 and was the center of the Ottoman Empire for almost 400 years. Visiting the palace, you can experience the atmosphere of a medieval palace, get to see how the Ottoman dynasty lived, see the decorations of the oriental palace and get acquainted with the daily life and household objects of the inhabitants who lived in the palace. The building itself was turned into a museum in the early 20th century by Ataturk.

Dolmabahce

The palace is one of the symbols of Istanbul. It was built by the Ottoman architects who worked as father and son, Garabet and Nikogos Balyan, by order of Sultan Abdulmejdid. The palace wonderfully blends the European architectural tradition with the art of an Ottoman harem. The residence of President Atatürk, who lived and died on November 10, 1938, in its original form, is still intact and remarkable.

Blue Mosque

Considered the most important landmark of the historical peninsula, it was built from 1609 to 1616 during the reign of Ahmed I. Süleymaniye Mosque

This is the second most important mosque after the Blue Mosque. It was built by the architect Mimar Sinan on the orders of Suleiman the Magnificent.

It contains the mausoleums where Suleiman, his wife Hürrem Sultan and their daughter Mihrimah are buried.

It is the centerpiece of a huge complex of baths, kitchens, a library, etc.. In the library, medieval manuscripts can be consulted.
