(10 minutes) The Deep Creek recreation area offers miles of tubing and a day of fun for all. There are many spots along the way to rent tubes!

There are countless waterfalls in our area but Deep Creek is right at the top of the list. The Three Waterfall Trail is the favorite, it offers three scenic falls all within a short hike. Most everyone should be comfortable with this walk.
(15 minutes) Take a ride along the most visited scenic highway in America. There are many scenic overlooks and historical stops along the way.
The Smoky Mountains are a hiker's paradise. The possibilities are endless with hikes of all levels from beginners to advanced, the Appalachian Trail crosses very near our area, only a short hike away.

(15 minutes) One of the top spots anywhere is the world-renowned Tsali Recreation Area. There are several bike shops in the area to get you back on the trail. During peak seasons some "mobile" bike outfitters are parked near the Tsali trail to offer onsite repairs.

Tradition runs deep and varied in these mountains. From traditional mountain music, bluegrass, gospel, blues, railroad songs and good old rock'n'roll! Free concert series presented every Saturday night at the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad Depot (June thru October).
There are many gem mines to explore all around our area. You never know what you may find, the Sapphire Valley area is known as the gem mine capitol!
Every town in the mountains hosts a Flea Market, and antique shops abound. A weekend trip following local "yard sale" signs can be a blast and a great way to meet some locals!
(35 minutes) The tallest dam east of the Mississippi. A marvel for its time and full of history, a major force in the shaping of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
